What makes our brownies "the best"?
We consider ourselves brownie connoisseurs, having sampled many a brownie over the years. With chocolate brownies being a staple in so many cafes, bakeries, restaurants, and online, there's no shortage or choice in a market that's very saturated. However, we realised that the problem with chocolate brownies is that the quality and type of product varies hugely, and you can never really be sure what you're going to get.
Here at Little Birnam Kitchen, we're in the business of real fudgy brownies, not cakey brownies - we're masters of good cake too, but that's something entirely different! Our fudgy brownies are flavoursome, chocolatey, moist and dense... Sometimes even a little bit gooey. That gets us off to a good start, but it's not the whole story.
Every single brownie order, whether it's a small box of postal brownies or a huge order for a business or event, is baked freshly from scratch every single time. No artificial preservatives, no box mixes, no freezers full of pre-made stock, and certainly no factory production line. Literally made by hand in small batches here in our Little Birnam Kitchen studio, by only me, Alison.
At the heart of our ethos is quality ingredients and premium flavour. We never compromise on real Scottish butter for full flavour (cultured butter made in Scotland is our top choice), fresh free-range Perthshire eggs from our local farm just outside Dunkeld, Belgian couverture chocolate, rich cocoa powder, and British flour direct from the mill.
Last but not least, the final ingredient... It's special, but it's no secret... Our brownies are baked with a whole lot of love. This is the icing on the (not so cakey) brownie, and means you'll never find any other brownie quite the same as ours.
